At Good Learning Anywhere, we use a variety of different technologies to assist adult learners in Ontario achieve their goals. There are many technologies to choose from but our learners’ favourite is Centra.
Centra is a way for adult learners across Ontario to connect in an online classroom with a LIVE instructor facilitating the class. Our classes in Centra can be accessed by anyone who is registered with Good Learning Anywhere and has access to a computer with an Internet connection.
Some features of Centra include:
- Interactive whiteboard where learners can practice math skills, express themselves creatively and meet new people to share ideas.
- Ability to talk, listen and text chat in class
- Instructors can explore the Internet and for example, take learners on a road trip with Google Earth & Google Maps
- Sessions are recorded for easy review
- Complete your milestone tasks and surveys
- Easy access to your classroom through our website

Centra is a very user friendly tool for adult learners. Our instructors take the time to help learners understand which icons to click on in order to accomplish the classroom activities. We are very patient and respect that many learners have had different levels of experience using computers.
We encourage all adult learners to consider online learning. It is not just for “young people”. We know of great-grandmothers, Elders, rock stars, artists and people from all walks of life who have taken online courses with us. Online learning gives everyone an equal opportunity to learn. We are the first to admit that online learning is not for everybody. However, how will you know if you don’t try?
